Hello Class!
Well, apparently I have been signed up with blogger since June 2011. I do recall using it before in my undergrad program for a creative writing course. I am excited to be using it again to become acquainted and play around with my creative mind. My name is Sara and I got the idea of my blog name 'TalkinTino' because A. talking is communicating so why not? Isn't that what we are studying? and B. Tino is my nickname from days past from my teammates in softball.
This is my "second semester" of classes through this program and I look forward to continuing to learn. I completed my undergraduate degree basically in 2007 with only a class or two, here and there to complete in full. I hadn't been in school in a very long time; however, I work currently at Union Pacific Railroad in a communications role and needed to further my knowledge in order to gain the type of experience I want within the company.
My long term goals for this company is to reach a management role or higher and I know I need to continue to develop myself as a leader in order to succeed. I feel as though this program and these courses will allow me to identify with various theories, styles, and methods of communication in order to accomplish my goals.
On a lighter note, it's summer time! Which is my favorite season. I am a huge baseball fan and try to attend as many major league baseball games as I can every year. So far, I have traveled to Kansas City to see my Yankees, yes I said my Yankees, play and in July I will be traveling to St. Louis to catch the Cardinals play.
I am looking forward to this class and to reading everyone's introductions. This one will be a fast one with only ten weeks. Good luck everybody!
